Surrounding Area
Strenglin is part of the municipality of Pronstorf.
With an area of 3,631 ha, the municipality of Pronstorf in the eastern part of the municipal assoc. Trave-Land is one of the biggest municipalities of the administrative division by land area. Over 1,700 inhabitants live in the districts Pronstorf, Goldenbek, Reinsbek, Wulfsfelde, Strenglin and Eilsdorf. In 1937, these districts were centralised to the municipality of Pronstorf.
Geologically, the area of the municipality belongs to the hill country of Ostholstein, the landscape being formed by terminal moraines of the last ice age and the Warder See (Lake Warder) which is under landscape protection. To date the area of the municipality is rurally structured and the appearance is formed by agriculture.
Due to the beautiful scenic situation of the municipality, but also due to the close distance to the Baltic Sea, Lübeck, Bad Segeberg and the Holsteinische Schweiz (Holsatian Switzerland), there are many options for leisure time activities and destinations for a day out.
