Zoological garden Neumünster

The zoological gardens-association, a non-profit association with currently over 2,000 members, is the supporting association of the TierPark. Within the frame of its founding meeting in April 1950 it set itself to establish a natural history-recreational and educational institution. Over time, the TierPark Neumünster has developed from a zoological garden with local animals to a modern zoo. On an area of 24 ha, the fauna and flora of Europe is introduced. An annual number of about 200,000 visitors prove that the TierPark is a popular local recreation area for Neumünster and its vicinity.
